Good students are generally kids involved in reading. They maintain home libraries, have their favorite stories, and enjoy a good trip to the library. This sort of scenario doesn’t just happen on its own of course. These great kids start with great parents who are giving them great lessons and introductions to reading. Getting your kids into reading really isn’t that difficult to do. The key is to make it fun to read and that is completely in your hands as a parent. Here are a couple of ways to make reading fun for you and your child.
1.) Read Different Books Together- As many children get involved in reading they like to read aloud but don’t know all the word and can use some help. Lay on tnhe couch in a head to foot type manner or whatever is comfortable. Allow your child to read out loud and help them when the get stuck on a word. They will feel good knowing you are there to help them and you can get in some good reading on your own.
2.) Read Your Child’s Book With Them- It can be great fun to pick out a story and read a book together with your child. Indeed, you each can experience the highs and lows of the story together and then discuss what it was you read, how you were affected as well as what you like and didn’t like about the story. Set aside some time in the evening. It’s a great idea to read together for the hour or so before bedtime as it send your child to bed feeling loved, fulfilled and happy.
Making reading fun in the best way to get your child into reading. The already figured out how to get into TV on their own because they think it’s fun. Why not take the time to make reading fun?
